These factors have, so far, rendered us seemingly incapable of making the major changes required to stop ruining our environment-much less reversing course, as we must if human civilization to survive much beyond this century's mere eight remaining decades. Chapters dedicated to galloping social change, science, religion-spirituality, economics, and evolution in the broadest sense describe how these widely differing topics all interrelate with each other, as well as-though still poorly recognized-how they collectively are hurling us toward an overheated earth that is unlivable for our species and many others. Along the way, the book has much to say about the useless antagonism between science and religion, about divisive-exploitive economics, and how closed mindsets in all the above are impeding humanity's spiritual growth.
