Author Information

Author, LaDann Hendley, is a children's storyteller who frequently visits schools, groups, and libraries sharing the tales she loves to tell. Remington's Wild Winter Safari is her latest in a list of faith-building, character-coaxing books including, Shimmy-Shimmy Shamrock and the Legend of the Leaves, and Easter Lilli and the Mystery of the Bunny Eggs. LaDann and her husband, Kevin, have been married 24 years and they've devoted much of the last 19 years encouraging children and teens to make good choices. Deborah Boren counts it a true blessing to illustrate her daughter's writings. She has always loved to draw. As a teenager, she enjoyed getting alone with paper and pencil and just drawing. She drew anything-everything. As an adult, Deborah didn't feel as though she had time to draw. ""When my daughter asked me to illustrate her book,"" Deborah says, ""I thought, 'Oh, my! I don't even know if I can draw anymore.' But her writings are Heaven sent, so I figured God would give me the ability to illustrate them."" Deborah's main critic is her four-year-old great-grandson. ""When he can tell me what is happening in an illustration, then I know I have accomplished my purpose."" Deborah thoroughly enjoys the art and the challenge of illustrating. ""I thank God for the abilities that He gives His children.""
