Overview

The remembrance of God will bring His Mercy and Contentment and cause believers to feel peace and tranquillity. Almighty God encourages us in so many verses of the Holy Quran to continuously remember Him and always be connected to Him. Almighty God will then reward us greatly and forgive us. As mentioned in Chapter 33, Verse 35 of the Holy Quran, ... and all men and women who remember God often: for (all of) them has God prepared forgiveness of sins and a mighty reward. Also, in Chapter 8, Verse 45: O you who have attained to faith ... remember God often, so that you might attain to prosperity. Believers will also be rewarded with contentment, as is mentioned in Chapter 13, Verse 28: Those who believe, and whose hearts find contentment in the remembrance of God - truly, it is in the remembrance of God that hearts find contentment. Everyone hopes for God's care and to be close to Him. It was narrated from the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, that God says, I am as My servant thinks I am, and I am with him if he remembers Me ... Remembrance of God is one of the easy and righteous deeds that bring believers closer to their Lord. Remembrance ranks very highly as a good deed, as mentioned in Chapter 29, Verse 45: Recite that which has been revealed to you of the Book, and perform the prayer ... but the remembrance of God is surely greater. And God knows all that you do. The believer should remember God at all times, in health or sickness, wealth or poverty, when working and when not working. Such remembrance will keep him away from bad deeds since God is always in his heart, and he is connected to him through prayers of remembrance. The Holy Quran and the Prophetic Tradition have a large store of these remembrances for all times and daily events, with many remembrances dedicated to particular occasions. This will keep him close to God, and He will be contented with him. As the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, If God is content with you, He will give you contentment. This book presents, in detail, the virtue of God's remembrance and how it is the key to contentment and a righteous life. Remembrance of God should be continuous, including remembering Him by His Most Beautiful Names. Also included are daily prayers to protect the believer against any evil, and many prayers for various occasions, based on the Prophetic Tradition.
