He has had a remarkable career in academic medicine, devoting a large part of the past four decades to honouring Raoul Wallenberg, and influencing the Australian Government to award him the first and only Honorary citizenship of Australia. F Vajda trained in Melbourne, Australia and London, UK in Neurology and Clinical Pharmacology. He is Treasurer and second President of the ESA (Epilepsy Society of Australia); Foundation Director of the Australian Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Clinical Neuropharmacology; Founder and Director of the Australian Pregnancy and Antiepileptic Drug Register; and a member of the Central Project Commission of EURAP (International Registry of Antiepileptic Drugs and Pregnancy), the International Pregnancy Register. He is also co-editor of Handbook of the Experimental Pharmacology; Antiepileptic Drugs (1999), Antiepileptic Drugs and Pregnancy with MJ Eadie (2015), History of the Epilepsy Society of Australia (2022), a translation of Raoul Wallenberg by J Levai (1985), Saved to Remember (2016), and We are our Memories (2018), along with 11 other books, 28 chapters and over 300 publications.
