William H. Chafe is dean of the faculty of arts and sciences at Duke University, and author of eight books. Raymond Gavins is professor of history at Duke University, and author of 'The Perils and Prospects of Southern Black Leadership'. Robert Korstad is an associate professor of public policy studies and history at Duke University, and author of two books.
