Overview

Cecil Forsyth's Remember is a musical composition using the words from Christina Rossetti's poem by the same name as lyrics. Christina Georgina Rossetti (1830 - 1894) was an English poet famous for her romantic, devotional, and children's poems. Her most celebrated works are Goblin Market and Remember , and she was also responsible for the words of the Christmas carols In the Bleak Midwinter and Love Came Down at Christmas . Cecil Forsyth (1870 - 1941) was an English composer and musicologist. He played the viola in various orchestras after attending the University of Edinburgh and Royal College of Music, where he studied together with Hubert Parry and Charles Villiers Stanford. He is best remembered for his operas Westward Ho! and Cinderella , as well as the choral ballad Tinker, Tailor .
