OverviewIn this work, the author argues that the focus on religious fundamentalism in ethnic conflict has obscured the ambiguous role of ""mainstream"" Western religion. The book examines the relationship between the religious and secular spheres at a time of rapid transition in South Africa and Northern Ireland. It analyzes the role of mainstream Protestantism as a site of struggle between competing world views. The book explains why this contest limits the potential of the church as a force for reconciliation. Full Product DetailsAuthor: L. Fawcett , Kenneth A.
