Releasing the Darkness is the telling of Candace's unraveling, Caleb's emergence, and Caleb's spiritual growth. Caleb has found so much healing, joy, enlightenment, and self-discovery through the poetry writing process. Caleb was a lost soul for so long. Drowning in fear, anger, resentment, sorrow, self-pity, shame, and so many other character defects. Since finding their higher power, Birdie, Caleb has been able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and now has hope for their future. Caleb aims to touch other lost souls and remind them they are exactly where they are supposed to be. That they too can find the light.

Caleb Hayes is a passionate, kind, queer person on a never-ending journey to find themselves and love themselves loudly. They are an MSW candidate at Aurora University and have a BA in Sociology from Washington University in St. Louis. They recently found their voice again through writing poetry and cannot wait to share their words with the world. They hope it connects.
