Refuge: 10th Anniversary Edition

Overview

In this powerful and evocative retelling, Jesus, Mary and Joseph flee Herod before finding sanctuary in Egypt. Uniquely, it is told in the voice of the donkey who carries them all to safety. Heartfelt in its message about the struggle of refugees and the kindness of strangers, this book is as relevant today as when it was first published ten years ago.

Author Information

Anne Booth (Author) Anne Booth has always wanted to be a children's writer, but on the way to becoming one has worked in many jobs. Anne lives in Kent in a lovely village with her husband and four children - and the children's grandfather across the road. They have two hens called Poppy and Anastasia and two dogs called Timmy and Ben. Anne loves tea and once won a Blue Peter badge for writing a poem about two mice in a bucket of rice. Despite this, she does not own any mice. Sam Usher (Illustrator) Sam's debut Can You See Sassoon? was shortlisted for the Waterstones Prize and the Red House Children's Book Award. When he's not holding a pen and wobbling at paper, you'll find him playing the piano, eating chocolate and trespassing.
