Author Information

Ian Greener is Professor of Applied Social Sciences at Durham University. He is the author of numerous articles and books on healthcare reorganization and public management. Barbara E. Harrington is Senior Research Associate in the Department of Healthcare, Northumbria University. She has worked as a researcher on several health and social policy research projects and was the Research Fellow and co-author on the National Institute of Health Research funded project, ""A realistic review of clinico-managerial relationships in the NHS: 1991-2010"", the findings from which have contributed to the book. David J. Hunter is Director and Professor of Health Policy and Management at Durham University. He is author of The health debate and co-author of The public health system in England (both published by The Policy Press) and co-editor of a series of public health research texts for The Policy Press. Russell Mannion holds the Chair in Health Systems at the University of Birmingham. He has authored or co-authored four books, with 'Cultures for Performance in Health Care' (Oxford University Press, 2005) winning the 2005 Baxter European book award. Martin Powell is Professor of Health and Social Policy at the University of Birmingham. He has authored or edited over 10 books (including 7 for The Policy Press), and has written over 60 journal articles on health and social policy.
