He is also the President of the Association of Chinese Political Studies (USA). Dr. Hua has recently been appointed Professor in Affiliation with Peking University. He was Asian Policy Studies Fellow with Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and George Washington University (2004-2005). His recent books include: Political Civilization and Modernization in China (co-edited with Yang Zhong, 2006); Chinese Political Culture (1989-2000) in 2001; and Scientism and Humanism: Two Cultures in Post-Mao China (1978-1989) in 1995.
