Kiesewetter holds a master's degree in business education and has completed postgraduate work in business. He spent twenty-nine years as a teacher and administrator at the high school and college levels. For fourteen of these years, he was the chairperson of the department of business at Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Illinois. Before that he was an accountant for a real estate developer then owned his own real estate company. After high school he served two years in the Army. As the chairperson of the department of business, Kiesewetter was responsible at one time or another for all aspects of the college's business programs. He also provided leadership for 34 full-time and 120 part-time faculty members. Owning a small real-estate company also provided him additional leadership experiences. Kiesewetter has written and published three novels (The Story of Love and the Missing Lara, The Murder of George, and The Vineyard Surprise) as well as a book of poetry (The Reflections of Poetry) and a book on leadership (Reflections on Leadership Success).
