Sharon Hughson did a great job of capturing the Jewishness of Mary including a mother's heart for her children. Reflections is well written and follows the Biblical timeline during the first century, well. I sincerely enjoyed this book and look forward to more in the series. I recommend this book to both women and men. Adrian Bernal, D. Nurtured through a troubled teen-hood by Aslan in Narnia, Sharon Hughson has long appreciated the power of the written word. For years, her heart was touched by Christian authors such as Dee Henderson, Lori Wick and Karen Kingsbury. But still the words called to her. In answer, she finished her English literature degree and started writing stories. For many years, she has written Bible lessons for youth group, teenagers and women. Bible characters fascinate her and offer encouragement and insight for real living. Can these truths be presented in a more accessible format? Something any person can relate to? Those questions led to the creation of Reflections from a Pondering Heart. Sharon fuels her imagination with recollections from years of motherhood and a lifetime of experience working with young people in both church and public school. She writes full-time from her home in Oregon, where she resides with her husband and three cats. The Hughsons are active in the ministries of their local church. This novella is the first in her series of Biblical retellings called REFLECTIONS. She has published eight sweet and Christian romances.
