He is a psychologist and a pioneering educator of the gifted in Hong Kong. The founder of the Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad School, he serves as a consultant and advisor to many local and overseas institutions. He was appointed as a Visiting Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Psychology, Beijing (1997) and at the Dewey Centre, Fudan University, Shanghai (2016).
