Overview

4,105 hours. That's how much time Americans spend consuming media each year. That equates to about 11 hours per day spent on social media, in front of a screen, or texting your friends and family. Have you considered how all of this media time is affecting both your physical and spiritual well-being? Pastor-psychiatrist duo Rev. A. Trevor Sutton and Dr. Brian Smith have teamed up to help you evaluate your technology use through a Christian perspective. Find a healthy balance with technology in today's modern age while still being focused on Christ. Each chapter includes a ""Do This, Not That"" advice column to help you make better decisions when it comes to your media and technology consumption. Additionally, there are discussion questions to get you thinking about your media use and to help you center yourself back on Christ.

Reviews

The negative impact of our society's addiction to digital media is ubiquitous in our homes, school, and even our churches. In response to this, Dr. Smith and Rev. Sutton have written a book that is exceedingly well-researched, engaging, and even inspirational. A practical guide to dealing with digital media using a God-centered approach, it should be required reading for Christian parents of children of all ages. -Dr. Anthony Youn, Best-Selling Author of The Age Fix, Physician, and Social Media Influencer There are many good books that offer Christians wise words of caution about the role of technology in our lives, but Redeeming Technology goes beyond that by offering practical suggestions on how our approach to and use of technology can be a beautiful expression of our love for God and the many neighbors in our lives. The book is a great source fo personal learning, but also an excellent resource for small group study and discussion. -Bernard Bull, President, Concordia University Nebraska
