Overview"""A fascinating look into the history of race in a country that has seldom been so divided."" - Reviewer, ★★★★★ Today, black and white people largely live in two different Americas, separate and unequal. What changes must be made to give liberty and justice to all? When tensions reside just beneath the surface, the slightest agitation can provoke those tensions to rear their ugly heads in a violent and tumultuous manner. Red, White, And Black is devoted to preventing that precarious outcome from happening. If we continue to kick the proverbial can down the road, we will only be nursing a raging ulcer in the system which will continue to plague our children and our children's children in unpredictable ways. In order to solve a problem, you must first identify it. Red, White, And Black delves deep into the historic relationship between black and white people to expose the roots of the weeds that spring up and choke out any semblance of a nation that is supposed to have moved far beyond slavery and segregation. Although they may be hard for some to believe, the truths in this book highlight the origins of the relationship and provides hard choices that must be made to repair it. The time has come for the American Dream to put up or shut up. Either America will finally do what is necessary to make it equally accessible to every American-including black people-or it is time for black people to consider other options. MLK once said, ""We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools."" But today, black people have found themselves saying, ""We must determine that if we cannot live together as brothers that we will also not perish together as fools."" Is it time for blacks and whites to consider splitting up like the old Soviet Union did? Can America be saved? These questions and more are addressed in Red, White, And Black. As any great problem solver knows, in order to solve a problem, you must first identify it. Red, White, And Black does just that. It delves deep into the historic relationship between Black and White people to expose the roots of the weeds that spring up from time to time to choke out any resemblance of a nation that is supposed to have moved far beyond Slavery and Segregation. Whenever tensions reside just beneath the surface of an environment, there is always a chance that the slightest agitation will provoke those tensions to rear their ugly heads in a violent and tumultuous manner. Red, White, And Black is devoted to preventing that precarious outcome from happening." Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2020This is a very educational as well as important book for everyone's shelf. The author does a great job of explaining the relationship between white and black people and what is not working. He begins the book by identifying the root cause of the problem. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a better understanding of the racial issues that we face in our country today. I also think that these types of book should be a part of our student's curriculum! It's better that we can identify and understand white privilege at any early age so that we can be better allies for black people. We many know the history of slavery, but to be able to understand how that time has altered and affected the progress of black people today is CRUCIAL. Xaymum 5.0 out of 5 stars A Delicate Balance Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2020I really enjoy the sharing of opinions and voices when it comes to race and equality. This is a tough subject to tackle so open discussion is key, and I feel the author was well-researched in what was presented in Red, White and Black. I applaud their effort to make the reader aware of the past, and what we can observe, learn, change and implement to ensure a more equal future for all Americans. Quite moving and emotional as I could feel the author's passion and emotion drip from the pages. Alex Passmore 5.0 out of 5 stars Crucial Dialouge!
