OverviewRed Nose Girl is a Young Adult novel about a fifteen year old girl, Lettie, who lives in a small town in Vermont. She discovers a clown nose that makes her always tell the truth. Her best friend is Trevor, also fifteen, who is Black and gay. Trevor's father is in a For-Profit Prison in Mississippi. Trevor and Lettie are working together on a term paper about Incarceration for their Advanced Placement United States History class. Their research leads them to go to Mississippi, to meet Trevor's dad, Patrice, and to return home to confront-successfully-Vermont's system of punitive justice and long sentencing.
