First, the reader sees things in our world that are blue, red, and silver and gold. Color families are introduced as the reader sees various shades. The next chapter describes ways that the color is perceived, such as blue is perceived as being sad or cold. In each of the books, children show and tell how they love their favorite colors and use them in their lives.
