Overview

We revisit the lives of the O'Reillys, the Riordans and the Baillies in the final years of the 19th century to see what has happened since their early days of settling in Duck Creek and what awaits them in a new century.The area is now known as Alstonville and we find Sean Riordan facing charges in court over an assault that occurred in Duck Creek Mountain Hotel. His sentence of three months hard labour is commuted to service in the Northern Rivers Lancers, fighting the Boers in South Africa.The next generation of the pioneering families are making their mark on the world, whether it be in South Africa, America, Europe or in the burgeoning country of Australia.The pioneers themselves have gotten older and even those who have moved away have maintained their strong connection to the Northern Rivers.There are new loves, more weddings, most definitely a race horse, as well as both joy and loss.
