Overview

recurring echoes, a narrative of war relates the story of four young English school friends during the Second World War. Serving respectively as a member of the Commandos, the Royal Navy Coastal Forces, an engineering student and an RAF fighter pilot, their individual experiences of the war in Europe between 1940 and 1945 is viscerally described. As death is measured in millions, the war consumes their youth, extracting a price they will endure for the remainder of their lives. To us, the outcome of the Second World War is history: to them, it was not.

Author Information

Conceived the morning after VE Day in 1945, Peter Morse was born and educated in London. He worked for Rolls-Royce as a mechanical engineer for thirty four years, becoming the internationally recognised UK specialist in the field of subsonic air-breathing missile propulsion systems. Retiring before the turn of the century, and following a period of consultancy for HM government, he now writes full time while living in a village between Bristol and Bath. Following the success of an unknown soldier published in 2017 and random consequences 2018, these two volumes of recurring echoes mark his third and fourth publications with SilverWood Books.
