OverviewThe historical hegemony of the English language has plagued the language of health professionals in countries where other languages -including Spanish- are spoken with many improprieties, foreign words and incorrect translations. In addition to this, there is insufficient language training in pre-university and university education, as well as a shortage of time for these professionals to consult non-professional literature. Hence, the objective of the authors of the book has been to show the recurrent use of Anglicisms in the oral and written communication of health professionals. This means a necessary proposal towards the reflection of the exposed situation, besides constituting another action directed to the communicative improvement of all Spanish speakers.
