She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, a Master of Arts in Health Arts and Sciences, and certifications in both Case Management (CCM) and Heart Failure Management (CHFN). She is a member of the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, (AAHFN), and the American Holistic Nurses Association, (AHNA). She is also a bioenergetics practitioner independent from her nursing practice, using a variety of modalities to facilitate an individual's experience of healing. Barbara is a kirtan devotee and maintains a strong daily mantra and meditation practice that spans multiple spiritual paradigms. Having made a decision to lead a fully devotional life that would honor both her experience of the Divine in everyday life and her background in science, Barbara returned to school after many years and attended Goddard College in Vermont. Exploring the areas of her passion and interest at Goddard, she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree for her work blending Heart Failure Management and Spiritual Integration in Western Biomedicine. She has now completed graduate studies at Goddard College, deepening her work in spiritually integrated healthcare as it applies to heart failure management.
