OverviewReclaiming Healthy Sexual Energy: Revised describes how reclaiming healthy sexuality is a journey into a satisfying future. We don't have to know precisely what is wrong sexually to begin the process of healing. It is enough to sense that something is off, something is missing, not working right. Our thoughts or behaviors are somehow disturbing. We can be sure that whatever our thoughts, feelings or behaviors, we are not alone. Those of us who seek healing - from incest, from other abuse, from misguided intentions, from societal pressures, from addiction, from such effects on our loved ones - can embark on this journey of recovery. We can relinquish shame for who we are and what we do. We are voyaging to the place where our sexual thoughts, feelings and behaviors emerge out of loving and where our sexual energy is healthy and health giving. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationAnne Stirling Hastings is a licensed psychologist (psy21365) practicing in Camarillo, California. She works with sexual abuse and sexual addiction, trauma history, and attachment deprivation. After specializing in sexual addiction and sexual healing for 20 years, she perceived the need to recover from shaming in order to heal any emotional symptoms and all distresses. In Healing Humanity: Life Without Shame (2009) Hastings addressed the role of shame whether addressing addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma history, or deprivation of attachment during early childhood. She includes the ordinary, everyday variety that is difficult to see, and thus difficult to stop taking in. Her book, From Generation to Generation: Understanding Sexual Attraction to Children, is sold by Sex Addicts Anonymous because they have found it a valuable resource for those healing from this common sexual disturbance. She has extensive speaking experience including bookstores, workshops and conference presentations. This includes a keynote address at SASH (Society for Advancement of Sexual Health), a day long presentation at the sexual addiction high profile group created by Patrick Carnes, Ph.D., and an in-service training at Betty Ford Addiction Treatment Center. She belongs to SASH, the American Psychological Association, the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, the Ventura County Psychological Association and the Santa Barbara County Psychological Association. Dr. Hastings gives talks on shame and on sexual healing for individuals and couples. This includes Healing Sexuality classes, and No Shame On You non-therapy group meetings teaching how to stop taking shame in, and steps to heal internalized shame. She has therapy groups for men and for women, and sees individuals and couples wishing to engage in healing deeply in all ways. Anne received her Ph. D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1979, and has been in private practice since. Information on classes, workshops, talks, and leadership training is on www.NoShameOnYou.com and www.AnneStirlingHastings.com. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
