In 2014 actress Julia Anastasopoulos and director husband Ari Kruger decided to combine their skills and passion for comedy to develop a project outside of their commercial work. Subsequently, SuzelleDIY was born and has not only grown into a full-scale brand and business, but their beloved character, Suzelle, has found her way into the hearts of thousands of South Africans and people living all over the world. SuzelleDIY has won multiple awards including two Loeries, the Superbalist 100 and best People and Blogs channel at the YouTube Awards 2016. In 2018 Suzelle saw three SAFTA nominations, winning Best Editing for a TV Comedy. The couple have since launched their own creative production company called Sketchbook Studios which is based in Woodstock.
