Author Information

Dr. K.V.R. Ravi Shankar is Associate Professor in the Transportation Division at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal, Telangana, India. He completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay in 2011 and has twelve years of teaching and research experience. He has guided 6 Ph.D. theses and 54 M.Tech. dissertations. He has 42 journal publications to his credit and was awarded the DST Fast Track Project for Young Scientists by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India. He has also delivered 30 invited lectures. Dr. Ravi Shankar has worked on major consultancy projects related to comprehensive traffic study plans, road safety audits, junction improvement plans, and traffic signs and markings strategy, among others. He is an editorial board member of the journal: Transportation Letters.    Dr. Suresha S. N. is Associate Professor in the Transportation Division at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Surathkal, Mangalore. He completed his Ph.D. from NIT Surathkal in 2010 and has 15 years of teaching and research experience. He has guided 4 Ph.D. theses and 60 M.Tech. project works. He has 32 journal publications to his credit and is the recipient of the Young Scientist Research Grant awarded by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He has worked on major consultancy projects related to airfield pavement, bituminous mixes, and pavement quality control.   Dr. C. Mallikarjuna is Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He has 15 years of teaching experience and has guided 7 Ph.D. theses and 2 are ongoing. He has carried out five major externally-funded research and development projects as Principal Investigator and is the recipient of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange) Fellowship. Professor Mallikarjuna has 31 journal publications and several conference publications. He was awarded the Johns Hopkins - International Injury Research Unit (JH-IIRU) and Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) award in 2020 and was nominated for the Global Road Safety Leadership Program, Baltimore in the same year. He has evaluated several Ph.D. theses from leading institutes and is also associated with many institutions as Invited Speaker. He is an editorial board member of the journal: Transportation Letters.   Dr. C.S.R.K Prasad is Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the National Institute of Technology Warangal. He obtained his bachelor's, master’s, and doctorate degrees from NIT Warangal. He has 33 years of teaching and research experience and has guided 262 M.Tech. dissertation works. He has guided 7 Ph.D. dissertations and has 4 scholars under his guidance at present. Prof. Prasad has carried out seven externally-funded research and development projects as Principal Investigator and is currently associated with 2 ongoing projects. He played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) - Center of Excellence in Urban Transport. Prof. Prasad has acquired expertise in several areas of transportation engineering, including travel demand modeling, mass transportation planning, traffic engineering, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), road safety, and low volume roads. He has published 138 papers in various journals and conferences. He has executed around 58 major consultancy projects as study team member and coordinator. He is Principal Coordinator of the State Technical Agency (STA) and Principal Technical Agency (PTA) of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) program of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. Prof. Prasad has also conducted 77 short-term programs, workshops, conferences, and seminars and is Member of the Board of Studies (BOS) of several institutions and universities.
