She received her master's degree from the University of York (York, England) in Conservation Studies (Historic Buildings). Atubeh is a member of the DeKalb County Historic Preservation Commission (Decatur, GA), a member of the United States/International Council on Monuments and Sites (US/ICOMOS) and has taught International Heritage Preservation at Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA).
