Realms is a system created by gamers for gamers, built to allow highly customizable characters, items, creatures, NPCs, and worlds. With an expansive list of skills and spells, Realms does not limit a character to skills built around a class: A soldier can also be a mage, and a mage can learn to wear armor and wield a sword or firearm. Realms Space is fully interchangeable with Realms Fantasy and Cyber to facilitate time travel scenarios and differing levels of world development and magic. The different types of playable characters in Realms are as varied as the players. The spell and skill progressions use a point system that depends on the path chosen by the player. There is also a correlation between skill levels and character levels, but one does not determine the other.
