OverviewThe reason why society has collapsed morally is because the world has neglected to love their children. To love children we must not only concern ourselves of the corporeal works of mercy, but also the spiritual works of mercy. What did Christ say? Suffer the little children, and forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of Heaven is for such. Instructing ignorant children, is that not a duty for every parent? To tell their children what not to do? The problem with today is many parents do not wish to correct their children because that means they would have to correct themselves in a particular fault. They would rather have the little children suffer both in the body and in the soul for the same faults. This book gives instructions from a Catholic mother to her children explaining what to do and what not to do. One can tell her piety and love for the Catholic faith in the very words she speaks. You can imagine the modest the dress she had worn and the love she carried in her bosom. Her eyes was set only on one goal, Heaven. Fear not, my son: we lead indeed a poor life, but we shall have many good things if we fear God, and depart from all sin, and do that which is good. The mother of St. Louis IX, future king of France, instructed her son: I would rather see you dead than know that you should live to commit a mortal sin. He lived up to his mother's instruction. The problem is this, parents are not instructing their children in the ways of piety, virtue, and religion. What is the solution? This book is the solution to the problem. St. Alphonsus writes: a single bad book will be sufficient to cause the destruction of a monastery. Pope Pius XII wrote in 1947 at the beatification of Blessed Maria Goretti: There rises to Our lips the cry of the Saviour: 'Woe to the world because of scandals!' (Matthew 18:7). Woe to those who consciously and deliberately spread corruption-in novels, newspapers, magazines, theaters, films, in a world of immodesty! We at St. Pius X Press are calling for a crusade of good books. We want to restore 1,000 old Catholic books to the market. We ask for your assistance and prayers.
