This interactive picture, reading, conversation and journal activity book aims to improve reading skills, increase enjoyment of reading, develop speaking skills in answering questions clearly and in detail, stimulate an appreciation for writing, and inspire awareness of the value of asking thoughtful questions. Students read fun tongue twisting alliteration sentences and brush up on their basic phonics skills with animal pals. Each animal pal asks readers questions about a particular topic related to the interests and lives of students. Topics include: music, wish lists, rainbows, family, friends, dreams, fast food restaurants, games, ice cream, flowers, vacation plans, people we love, haircuts, and much more. Students read and answer the questions aloud. Some harder words are used in the questions, which will enrich the vocabulary of readers. To catch and learn from mistakes, students write their answers down in a journal or notebook. Then teachers or parents read and react to students' written answers, make corrections, ask students some more related questions, chat further, and help students advance their conversation skills.
