Overview

Outlandish stories and goofy songs teach students what happens when two letters are mashed together. They create a new sound! Through songs filled with alliteration, rhyme, and repetition, students are introduced to the sounds that letter blends make. The books in this series help build reading fluency and mastery of high-frequency words. Includes hardcover book, music CD plus online music access.

Author Information

Blake A. Hoena grew up in central Wisconsin, where he wrote stories about robots conquering the moon and trolls lumbering around the woods behind his parents house. He now lives in Minnesota and continues to write about fun things like space aliens and superheroes. Blake has written more than fifty chapter books and graphic novels for children. Luke Flowers is an illuminator of the imagination from Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he lives with his wife and three kids. When he is not illustrating and writing children's books in his cozy creative cave, he finds deep inspiration in strumming on his guitar or banjo, adventures with his family, and savoring a unique blend of music, movies, coffee and books ... lots and lots of books. Born in Long Island NY, all Doreen ever wanted to do was draw and ice skate! She attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a fine arts major and then moved to New York's School of Visual Arts, where she received her degree in illustration and cartooning. In between, she sold ice cream at Disney World and ran errands for MTV. After graduation, she worked at Marvel Comics as a production assistant where she met her lovely husband. After a few years working alongside superheroes, she did product design at Russ Berrie. Now, she works as a freelance illustrator and designer from the comfort of her home (in fuzzy slippers) ... with her daughter and puppy Baxter Blue Cheese by her side!
