Overview

The Union is gone. Interstellar travel is no longer safe. Enter ex-Union Navy Officer Cliff Rawlins. John J. Spearman (Jake to his friends and colleagues) is a Latin teacher and coach at a prestigious New England boarding school. Before joining the world of academia, Spearman had been a sales and marketing executive for twenty-five years. In 2006, he walked away from an executive position with a Fortune 500 company to return to school. He earned his MA in Latin in a calendar year and began teaching thereafter. He enjoys life at a boarding school, with coaching sub-varsity-level football his favorite assignment. He decided to write for publication when his wife suggested he find a hobby. The proud father of four boys, he lives with his wife (and five dogs) in coastal Maine when school is not in session. Joel Richards was the kid who did crazy things just to have a good story to tell afterward. On deciding to make his affection his profession, he received a BFA in acting and a BA in English from the University of Utah. He has narrated over 300 audiobooks and continues to tell his original stories to live audiences.
