Melissa Peterson is a Makah tribal grandmother living on the reservation in Neah Bay, Washington. She learned the art of storytelling from her aunt, Helen Peterson, a renowned and honored storyteller. Suzanne Rodriguez is a Makah tribal member living in Seattle. She stayed with Auntie Helen in her youth. Suzanne's love for Makah stories and art is demonstrated in her beautiful illustrations depicting all the characters in the story.
