It was thousands of years ago when the first horses were domesticated, and up to this day, they play a huge role in our society. Although they are no longer the major means of transport, they are still useful in many different ways. There are hundreds of horse breeds in the world but some of them are what experts consider unique because they are either endangered or just very rare. Unfortunately, most of them are in the critical numbers category as there are not many of them left. There are also some that are just known to be extremely beautiful and not owned by many people. One of the most famous rare horse breeds is the Canadian horse. This horse is a versatile horse that is not just quick, but incredibly strong as well. Known to be the oldest horse breed in the world, the Cleveland Bay Horse is very athletic with an amazing temperament, but there are less than a thousand of them that remain worldwide. Another rare breed, the Akhal-Teke horse is considered to be one of the most beautiful horses that ever existed and although they are not endangered as the other horse breeds, they are still considered incredibly rare because they cannot be found in a lot of countries. These are just some of the rarest breeds of horses that are still alive today. Organizations all over the world are doing their best to preserve these breeds and make sure their numbers will increase to prevent extinction. Breeding is also being well managed by experts to preserve the purity of these breeds and advanced technology is playing a major role in ensuring these rare breeds will continue to survive for a long time. Even as a child growing up in the Cariboo of Beautiful British Columbia, Canada, Jo loved horses, cowboys and all things country. She was an avid rider who felt comfortable in the ranching lifestyle. Looking back, she could have been a rancher's wife pursuing the western way of life that she loved. Life has a way of surprising us, so when Jo was called to the Mission Field in Bolivia some thirty-three years ago, everything changed. Jo's journey has been incredibly rewarding as she grew to love Bolivia and the people there. She adopted children who now have their own children, (Jo's grandchildren) all while living a life of service to God.
