OverviewEchoes Through Millennia Along the Silk Road: Listening to the Folk Epic of the Hexi Corridor! Taking Liangzhou Xianxiao from Wuwei City, Gansu Province as the research subject, this study analyzes its ""open"" structural characteristics and highlights its connections with various art forms such as storytelling, opera, and drum lyrics. The book also compiles twelve modern inheritance lineages of Liangzhou Xianxiao, involving over 150 individuals, and provides preliminary research on the Sanhuang Hui, a guild organization for blind performers. Additionally, the study conducts a statistical analysis of the tuning methods of the sanxian (a three-stringed lute) prevalent in the local area and proposes the hypothesis that the ""five-four"" tuning originated from natural harmonics. Furthermore, the author critiques the perspectives that Liangzhou Xianxiao derived from Dunhuang Bianwen and popular Buddhist lectures, as well as the notion that it is a descendant of Dunhuang Bianwen or a branch of Hexi Baojuan (precious scrolls). Full Product DetailsAuthor: 徐海波Publisher: China National Publications Import & Export C Imprint: China National Publications Import & Export C Edition: Unabridged edition Dimensions: Width: 20.30cm , Height: 2.70cm , Length: 27.60cm Weight: 1.116kg ISBN: 9787523110843ISBN 10: 7523110843 Pages: 386 Publication Date: 01 March 2025 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier.
