Overview

Rangelands are renewable resources vital to the national well-being of the countries of the Arabian Gulf and arid zones around the world, and enormous tasks lie ahead if rangeland-based natural resources are to be restored and retained for optimum current and future utilization. These were the concerns of the Second International Conference on Range Management in the Arabian Gulf, at which experts from 20 countries contributed papers, 38 of which are published here, addressed to themes of rangeland inventories and evaluation; range plants - potential and production; forage crops; animal crops from rangelands; and technological range improvements.
