Overview

Raindrop Suite for flute and pedal harp is an original composition by Julietta Rabens that explores sounds inspired by an imaginary world created in the rain. The sounds are delicate, whimsical, and mysterious. A variety of colorful effects are used on the harp including glissandi and soundboard tapping, requiring an intermediate level of playing for both flute and harp. The individual titles in the suite are, Prelude , Purple Sails , Rat-a-tat-tat , and Waterlace .

Julietta Anne Rabens received her masters and doctorate in music composition from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying with Randall Snyder, and her masters of music in harp from Northern Illinois University where she studied with Liz Cifani and Ron Price.
