Her Order of Australia Medal (2008) was ‘for service to the arts through the promotion of children’s literature and literacy and through support for authors and illustrators’. Margaret’s passion and recognition for wider promotion of picture books led her to found the Children’s Book Cottage at Blackheath, Pinerolo, in 2010. Her first picture book B is for Bedtime (2014) was a CBCA Notable Book. Anna Pignataro has created more than seventy books for children. Her first picture book won the Crichton Award for Book Illustration and many of her books have been shortlisted and have received Notable Book Commendations from The Children’s Book Council.
