Railings and Ramps

Overview

A 2026 Feathered Quill Book Award Finalist in the Children's Early Readers (6-8 years) category. Jonathon's family runs a country store where, during the dummer, Jonathon helps his father. Every day, Elmer, who is 80 years old, visits the store to sit on the porch. One day, Jonathan helps Elmer deliver groceries to neighbors and learns that Elmer's wife, June, can't visit the store because she uses a wheelchair and the building isn't accessible. Jonathan is determined to help. He comes up with a plan to sell flowers on the store's porch to raise money for a ramp, proving that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Railings and Ramps is a heartwarming story of kindness, problem-solving, and the power of making the world a little more welcoming for everyone.
