Overview

Set in the backstreets of 1950s East End of London, a young Timothy Cooper endures a violent and controlling homelife until the social childcare system steps in and places him into a children's home. After initial friendship and happiness with children from similar backgrounds, he is returned to the family home on a trial basis. A cycle of abuse and neglect soon reignites. What follows is a series of daring escapes from his family home, the police and local authorities. Life on the streets appears the only option when the world seems to be against you.
