Radio Vlaanderen Internationaal (Dutch for Flanders International Radio ) is the international broadcasting service of Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep (VRT), the public broadcaster of the Flemish community in Belgium. RVi broadcasts on cable FM and DAB in Flanders, mediumwave and satellite radio in Europe, and worldwide on shortwave. It is also available in North America FTA on AMC 4 satellite through the Home2US platform alongside BVN Netherlands. International broadcasting is broadcasting that is deliberately aimed at a foreign, rather than a domestic, audience. It usually is broadcast by means of longwave, mediumwave, or shortwave radio, but in recent years has also used direct satellite broadcasting and the Internet as means of reaching audiences. Although radio and television programs do travel outside national borders, in many cases reception by foreigners is accidental.
