OverviewHigh Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Radio Teemaneng is a community radio station based Kimberley in the Sol Plaatje municipal Area in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. This is an initiative of Training, Education, Research and Resource Centre. In 1993, TERRP organised a media conference in Kimberley sponsored by Kagiso Trust. The purpose of the conference was to establish a communication medium/tool for the people of the then Cape Province. At that time, radio, television and the print media were under the control of the apartheid government. The conference was there to give an alternative voice to the oppressed majority. Present at the conference were different organisations such as Bop TV, Political organisations, South African Council of Churches including NGOs The conference started on the 30th October 1993.
