It is owned by MediaWorks New Zealand and features programming from Marcus Lush, Hilary Barry, Michael Laws, Willie Jackson, John Tamihere, Maggie Barry, Karyn Hay and Andrew Fagan. It is a spin-off of the now-defunct Radio Pacific, as is sister sports network LiveSport. Programming on the network includes hourly news updates, breakfast and drive time current affairs programmes, open-line talkback and weekend sports and lifestyle coverage. The Radio Live News desk, which draws from the resources of 3 News, prepares live bulletins for Radio Live and pre-recorded bulletins for other MediaWorks radio networks. When Radio Live News first replaced the established Global News service with the launch of Radio Live in 2005, it claimed to be New Zealand's first fully integrated newsroom - the first newsroom in which the duty newsreader was able to converse with and interrupt any host based in any location with breaking news developments. Radio Live also takes a live simulcast of the 3 News television bulletin every evening at 18:00.
