After growing up in the Midwest, Monte Kline came to the Pacific Northwest in pursuit of a college education in earth science and to enjoy the region's scenic beauty. However, coming to know Christ his sophomore year changed his plans, redirecting him after graduation into several years of college campus Christian ministry. During that time he developed a serious cancer condition that was ultimately resolved with a natural medicine approach. This experience launched him into a career of speaking, writing books and presenting health and nutrition from a biblical perspective, including Eat, Drink & Be Ready, The Junk Food Withdrawal Manual, Vitamin Manual for the Confused, The Sick & Tired Manual, Body, Mind & Health and Health Dare: 8 Reasons to Try Natural Healing. After completing a graduate degree in Nutrition & Wholistic Health Sciences, Monte went into practice as a Clinical Nutritionist in 1984. He currently directs a virtual health practice remotely testing clients from around the world. Monte also has a ministry focus on growing intimacy with God through Personal Retreats, as detailed in his book, Face to Face: Meeting God in the Quiet Places and his ministry website, www.christianpersonalretreat.com. Monte has served in teaching and pulpit capacities in several local churches and also writes the Historic Faith theology blog (www.historicfaith.wordpress.com). For several years he has focused on personal study and teaching classes on the biblical design for prayer as reflected in this book. Monte, along with his wife Nancy, live near Tucson, Arizona.
