This book is an excellent reference for radiation treatment planning. The technical details for each tumor site are more comprehensively reviewed than in a typical textbook of general radiation oncology. For any practicing radiation oncologist who regularly treats patients with GI cancers, particularly upper GI tract sites, I would consider this a compulsory reference for successful treatment planning. ... this book is a very timely and extremely useful reference for radiation treatment planning for GI cancers. Author Information

Theodore S. Hong, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber / Harvard Cancer Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, Boston, MA, USA Dr. Prajnan Das is Professor of Radiation Oncology and Section Chief of the Gastrointestinal Radiation Oncology Section at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.  He serves as Program Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency and Fellowship.  Dr. Das graduated with B.S. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, and completed his M.D. degree at Harvard Medical School, as well as his M.P.H. degree at the Harvard School of Public Health.  He completed his residency at the Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Therapy.  He has written over 120 peer-reviewed publications, and many invited articles and textbook chapters.  He has served on many national panels and committees on the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers.
