Overview

In Race Riot, Nick Freeman has the misfortune of seeing his grandest dreams come true. After years of late-night toil in his basement bunker, Nick concocts a scheme that sends his fortunes skyrocketing. He's able to quit his dead-end job and ditch his arrogant department head, procure a trophy house with a Lexus parked in the driveway, and rule a burgeoning empire with a shrewd and lusty swagger. And that's when all the trouble begins. Nick's wife, Nina, becomes a victim of her husband's conjugal negligence and submits to the charms of Nick's former boss, which drives Nick wild. A onetime co-worker who Nick rescues from financial ruin responds by extorting his benefactor to jack up his payouts; and finally, as Nick's empire unravels, he ends up being arrested by his best friend. Yet, from the ashes that had become her husband's life, Nina finds the inner strength to resurrect her soul and lay the foundation of her own financial empire. Race Riot encompasses most of the extreme passions of life: greed, lust, envy, rage, humor, revenge and desperation. In its pages, the mighty fall and the timid rise (only in some cases to tumble back down again). The innocent and virtuous invariably turn out to be unwitting agents of disaster, while the cruel and vain suffer mightily for their sins. It's a crazy ride, and one with enough energy, humor and suspense to keep those page turning.
