Overview

This series is designed for students who are experiencing difficulties with maths. Quizzes are progressive, but also contain elements of revision and reinforcement. The 'mixed ability' questions in each quiz are designed to ensure that most students will get a reasonable number correct. Content of quizzes includes: Number skills; Fractions; Decimals; Percentages; Ratio and proportion; Time; Geometry; Measurement; Probability; Algebra and Statistics. Quizzes can be used as 'warm ups', as targeted activities for particular students, to engage pairs or small groups, for early finishers, for homework, or for pre/post- testing of various competencies. Author Information

Maureen Thompson was born in Zimbabwe and has a degree in Maths and French. She has taught in Zimbabwe, England and New Zealand. As well as classroom teaching, Maureen has taught students aged 5 to 15 years old, on a one-to-one basis. This has given her an in-depth understanding of how students learn, and what motivates them. She believes that any student can succeed in maths, given lots of praise and practice.
