Author Information

Cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, academic, author, artist, artisan and social activist. Research and clinical interests in transgender and adult ADHD and personal interests in the ideals of social justice, equality and challenging oppression, particuarly with regard to gender and sexual minorities. Personal passions beyond my work (about which I'm passionate) will see me working on my vintage fairground lorries - one of which still takes my hoopla stall out in the summer. Queering The tranny is my first full book and arose from a research project I did as part of my MSc. The research journey challenged a lot of what I thought I knew about sex and gender, and the purpose of the book is to help take a new message out for folk to find a new way of understanding a phenomenon that has existed for ever and yet for a long time created so much distress. I hope to add to the voices that will find ways to end the shame and distress and allow people to live more honest and free lives in a society that can respect diversity and embrace creativity.
