The Frostfyre Valley wakes to tragedy. Bells toll, announcing the Queen's death, and while there must be time to mourn, the people of the valley know a new Queen must rise. Throughout the Frostfyre, women and girls wear masks of sadness, but inside they dream of power. A rise to royalty. But what will the task be this time? What must they do to be dubbed ""Queen""? Many women have spent their entire lives training for this moment, pushed by eager parents or power-hungry families.
