OverviewLCDR Peter Tierney (medical corps) USNR has returned from a West-Pac flight surgery billet for duty as the senior medical officer a the nuclear submarine base Bangor on Puget Sound. Here he must resolve the very sudden loss of his close friend CDR Charles Brewer and the inexplicable chill of Peter's love, Shawn Carol. Commander Charles Brewer, USN was a general surgeon who had been deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Peter finds a suicide note near his friend's body. The Commander it appears was bisexual and HIV positive. Peter begins a covert search for the truth, when a veiled and orchestrated cover-up sweeps Charles's death into top secret files. Peter's search takes him to GITMO, the CDC, NIH, AFIP, Los Alamos and the National Center for Medical Intelligence. Pieces of this puzzle begin to take shape giving glimpses of evil forces behind Charles death and the global epidemic of AIDS. Like the vortex of a black hole, Peter cannot escape this perilous journey for which he is ill prepared. After this journey, you may need to rethink what you previously felt secure in knowing. Will the present day epidemic of Ebola become as politically and ineptly mismanaged as was the AIDS epidemic?
