Author Information

Satoru Yamamoto received his Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 1970. His research interests include theoretical reaction kinetics, reaction mechanism in metallic alloys, quantum chemistry of chemical bonding, and also his research extends to natural philosophy. He published 75 papers in domestic and international scientific journals such as Acta materialia or Z. physikalische Chemie, et al. He is the author of 13 books; “A Trial of New Reaction Kinetics” (1979) which proposed a new theory of reaction kinetics based on the uncertainty principle, in addition to 4 books on new materials science described from a viewpoint of chemical bonding, 5 books on conceptual analysis of science and cognition, and 3 books on cast iron materials.   Teruo Tanabe received his Ph.D. from Kyoto University in 1975. His research activity in his early carrier intended to reaction kinetics of metallurgy and environmental issues, and then extended to the field of theoretical science including epistemological studies of nature. He published 68 papers in domestic and international scientific journals such as Metallurgical Trans. AIME, et al. He is the author of 10 books, half of which he co-authored with Dr. Yamamoto. He has also worked hard to educate young researchers/engineers and published a series of 34 articles on new materials science in the journal over a three-year period. He received the “2003 Scientific Achievement Award” from the American Biographical Institute (ABI) for his work.
